Anthropic has made developers an offer many of them won’t be able to refuse: They get double the usage limits on Claude during off-peak hours for two weeks, reports TNS contributor Paul Sawers.
The 2x usage promotion applies to all company plans, including the free, Pro, Max, and Team tiers. Usage limits are doubled throughout the weekend and outside weekday peak hours, which means the higher allowance applies outside weekday business hours. The bonus capacity is applied automatically.
Of course, generosity and strategy aren’t mutually exclusive. There’s an increasingly aggressive race among AI labs like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google to attract developers who will then anchor new software ecosystems around those AI tools.
“Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in,” developers may think once they’ve built something with Claude.
And that may be the point. Once you’ve built something meaningful on Claude during a two-week window of doubled capacity, switching costs start to feel very real.
